Nalu Suites

Nalu Suites is situated atop the Casares mountain range, where geography becomes architecture. From this elevated point, the Mediterranean unfolds as an endless horizon, while the mountain slopes shape the interplay of light and shadow across the building’s volumes.
A Vertical Village That Rethinks How We Live

Located on a steeply sloped site in Casares, Nalu Suites reimagines the apartment typology by blending the independence of a villa with the sense of community. The architectural response was to stagger the buildings along the mountain, so that every apartment enjoy sgarden-level access, natural light and sea views. The design ensures a harmonious integration with the terrain, prioritizing privacy, solar orientation and open-air living.

The Challenge

Reimagining Density Without Losing Intimacy

The project involved developing a residential complex of 144 apartments on a steeply sloped site with panoramic sea views. The main challenge was to rethink the conventional apartment typology, creating a new way of living that combines the independence of a villa with the sense of community. The difficulty lay in designing architecture that respects the topography, optimizes solar orientation and maintains privacy for each unit, without compromising the visual connection to the landscape.

Our Solution

Stacking Villas Along The Mountain Slope

The architectural response was to adapt the building to the natural slope of the mountain, staggering the volumes so that each floor functions as a penthouse with its own garden and pool. This strategy ensures optimal orientation, unobstructed views and a seamless dialogue between interior and exterior. The proposal integrates sustainability, natural light and ventilation, achieving a balance between individual experience and community living. The result is an architecture that transforms the summit into a residential complex where each dwelling opens to the landscape, redefining the relationship between height, terrain and contemporary living.
